When I tried to reply to an email I cannot type in the blank area of the reply section.  It just will not allow me to type there?

which mail service do you use? And turned on or off  Privacy Mode?

At the office we use outlook exchange but I am also having the same issue with Hotmail.

Some web sites, like Hotmail - do not like Browsers other than some major players.

For example, here is what Windows Live told you when you first visited the Hotmail:

... i.e. you was warned that some parts might not work.

However, if you change UserAgent string (Preferences->Advanced, QtWeb v.1.5.7++) to the one of standard ones, for example :

  Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; de-DE) AppleWebKit/528+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.2.1 Safari/525.27.1

... in other words would tell the web server that you are a Safari or IE, everything would work just fine for the Hotmail (and most other problem websites as well)

QtWeb Web Browser ver 2.5 has a Compatibility toolbar button.
Set compatibility to Safari or Chrome and you won't have such problems anymore
