1. QtWeb is installed, not in portable mode = setting is saved to Registry
2. QtWeb start with StartMenu shortcut or from QtWeb folder = setting is loaded from Registry
3. QtWeb is started by CMD from any folder, for example from root c:\ by typing c:\program files\qtweb\qtweb.exe = setting IS NOT loaded from registgry = QtWeb start in portable mode, folders qtwebcache and qtsetting appears in folder with qtweb.exe

Version of QtWeb - 2.5, build 79
OS: Vista Business ENG or BartPE from XP SP2

Hi

Yes, this is by design.

Installed mode works with user profiles, portable mode stores everything in subfolders of current folder, and being able to run from USB,etc.. If current folder equals to the folder where QtWeb Internet browser is installed, it is considered as Installed mode, otherwise - portable.

Read manual here:
http://www.qtweb.net/pages/ibr9019.html

From manual: If you installed the software, application settings are stored in the Registry section for  the current user's profile....

I have installed QtWeb. Only run QtWeb from CMD (for example BAT) from actual (not QtWeb) folder Sad

From manual: If you are porting the software with you (just copied QtWeb.exe to USB or other media and run it from there, even on different machines) - neither Registry nor User's profile have not been used at all...

I haven't copied QtWeb files. QtWeb files are in same place. IMHO manual is wrong.

Described QtWeb's behaviour is not very useful if I want asociate HTM and HTML extensions with QtWeb.
Clicking on file with HTML extension uses other (default) settings of QtWeb (other than current user saved in Registry).
