Hi

QtWeb Web Browser has been designed to be compact and portable browser for some specific tasks.

Developers considered it not ready to be a full-featured Desktop browser yet, so no "make default" feature yet.

However this task is in the tasks list, and you can check the status here:

Hi,

Yes, I know, I'm reviving an old thread, but we're now almost 6 months further in time.
Just wondering if any progress has been made to set QtWeb as default browser.

If not, could you supply us with a Registry hack to accomplish this?
I'd really like to open links from documents ,email etc in QtWeb.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Pete.

Hi,

Well, it looks like I have to supply my own answer Wink
The Tasklist that is referred to goes back to Oct 26 2008,
so nothing has been done about it for well over a year Sad

I accomplished what I wanted by using either one of 2 utilities:
Utilities to set Bowser as Default:

1.DefaultBrowser
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm

2.SetBrowser
http://www.pc-tools.net/win32/setbrowser/

Actually, I used the 2nd one first and it works ok and opens links in email and documents in QtWeb.
Tried this on  XP (SP2 or SP3) ,but not sure if it'll work on Win7.
Use at your own risk  Grin

@ phamthebac

It would be more helpful if you indicated where this setting is in QtWeb.

Also , have you really read this thread? See post by Alex above !! and mine for that matter.
There must be at least 30 -40 browsers available and not every-one has the option to set it as default
and QtWeb is one of them.
